About Scaravelli Inspired Yoga

Yoga Quotes by Vanda Scaravelli-2.jpg

The word ‘yoga’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ meaning ‘whole.’ This is a gentle but challenging form of Hatha yoga which honours that meaning by looking at the integration of movement and whether the ‘whole’ body is involved.  We learn to wake up the natural intelligence in the body.

Vanda Scaravelli wrote the pioneering book ‘Awakening The Spine.’  She said it is not so much ‘the performance’ of the exercises or postures that matters, but rather the way we are doing them. We are invited to do less and feel more. In a sense it is a yoga of undoing.

The style is intuitive, intelligent and mindful encouraging you to reconnect to the body’s innate wisdom.  Exploration and kind curiosity allow us to move freely again and to find a sense of rest and connection in the postures.
